Shri. Aseem Sahu is Deputy Drugs Controller (India) working in Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. He did his post-graduation from Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, UP in the year 1989. Presently, he is involved in activities of Medical Device Division in CDSCO HQ. He has vast experience in the area of regulation and enforcement activities of Drugs, Medical Device and Diagnostics as well as Cosmetics in the country under the provisions of Drug and Cosmetics Act 1940 & Rules thereunder. He has experience of more than 30 years in regulation of drugs, medical devices, and cosmetics including industrial experience of 7 years in Manufacturing and Quality Control of Medical Devices. During industrial experience, he was recognised as "Approved Analytical Chemist" by the State Drugs Controller, Govt. of Haryana, Chandigarh for chemical and microbiological testing of drugs and cosmetics India and also involved in the test and analysis of drugs and pharmaceuticals in private organization as per pharmacopoeias and International Standards.

Dr. Kalaiselvan, over 22 years of experience, contributed to Pharmacovigilance, Pharmacopoeia standards development, and medical devices safety. Currently, as Senior Principal Scientific Officer at IPC, he is responsible for protecting and promoting quality standards, safety, and rational use of drugs. He works towards establishing/implementing a medical products safety surveillance system such as the Pharmacovigilance and Materiovigilance Programme of India. He is also a focal person for WHO collaborating centre’s at IPC responsible for executing work related to strengthening the Pharmacovigilance activities in WHO member states. He has proven his ability to establish a robust system of the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) which has been recognized by the WHO as a collaborating centre. He has been instrumental in forging partnerships with public health programmes, QCI, CSIR labs, academic institutions, CDSCO, WHO, etc., in enhancing the outreach of IPC services. He is a WHO’s assessor to assess the functions of the National Regulatory Authority of WHO member states. He has authored five books besides publishing 106 research/review articles in peer-reviewed journals. He has been the recipient of fellowships from DST and AICTE to pursue research projects. He has organized numerous national and international level training programmes for the professionals of pharmaceutical industries, academics, hospitals, and regulatory authorities to enhance the knowledge, practice, and compliance of Pharmacovigilance/Pharmacopoeial standards.

Rajiv Nath is the Managing Director of Hindustan Syringes & Medical Devices Ltd. and serves as the Forum Coordinator for the Association of Indian Medical Device Industry (AiMeD).
